Exactly.  I checked it be clicking fast on the link in an info buffer
while holding still the mouse pointer and then right after that moving
it off the link.

For me the interface currently is too complex.  The aspects which are
important for me are that it works reliably without delay and that I
can mark a link by dragging the mouse without activating it.
