OK, to me it seems inconsistent.
Anyway, I now discovered what I thought was a bug a while ago. If you
highlight a region using C-SPC C-SPC or using the mouse, C-d (the
Delete key, not Backspace, on my keyboard) works differently. So, *if*
people like it to be like this, I guess DEL (or Backspace as I call
it) should work the same way:
mouse-higlighted: DEL and C-d deletes marked text
transien-mark-highlighted: DEL and C-d only delets one character
Again, if I wasn't clear enough about this before; I think it is bad
design if the user interface works differently just because of *how*
the highlighted mark was done.
And, IMHO, delete-selection-mode should be enabled for a marked region
to be deleted when pressing DEL or C-d.
I won't argue more about this now.
