Planner ledger is horribly broken (at least on my system) for recent versions of ledger. (If you want a simple but feature rich accounting package, check out ledger at http://ledger.sf.net...
I use planner; I use ledger. What is planner ledger?FWIW, I second that "simple but feature rich" comment. After looking at a number of tools to let me cut the final Quicken apron strings holding me to Windows, I decided to go one step further and also bite the command-line bullet. I just recently brought my entire finances onto linux using JW's ledger. As he says, it's the "bran muffin" of book-keeping tools.
And you know how a new healthy diet is tough for a bit, but then leaves you with much more energy and health? Well ledger's proving to be a lot like that.
If you're already an ASCII, command-line, text-editor kinda freak - as you must be on *this* geek-dense list :-) - I strongly recommend a look.
