Hello,

I made some further thinking on the idea of having "teacher's course weblog". And I am becoming convinced that it really is a good idea. Here are some points that defend the idea.

The Fle3 teacher's weblogs will (possibly - if used the right way) offer

(1.)... for students:

(1.1.) Easy to find, one access point, to the study course;
(1.2.) Information about the most critical things that they should work
       on in the study course;
(1.3.) highlighting that learning is a process which moves on in time.
(1.4.) Documentation of the whole study groups learning process as seen
       by the teacher (s).
(1.5.) Possibility to follow several "Fle3 course blogs" and to
       integrate the Fle3 course blog content to other blogs by
       using RSS.

(2.)...for teachers:

(2.1.) Easy to use one-way information channel to reach all the students
       in one time and this way lead and manage the learning process.
(2.2.) Possibility to post content from other "Fle3 course blogs" on
       your own blog by using RSS.
(2.3.) Use the permanent link of the single blog post to point to the
       post stating something that students keep on asking, though it
       have been already said in the blog.
(2.4.) Possibility to study other teachers Fle3 course blogs and learn
       how to run study course with Fle3.

(3.) ...for the rest of us (other students, other teachers, parents):

(3.1.) Possibility to follow what the students are doing in the study
       course and how the teacher is leading the process.
(3.2.) Freedom to use TrackBack and to comment the "Fle3 course blogs"
       if seen necessary.

And here is one more general point:

Fle3 is a closed seminar room for progressive inquiry and there is very good reasons for that: It is not either really clever or meaningful to present your first "working theories" and "work in progress" thoughts in some web site open for all and archived by hundred of other online services.

Even though progressive inquiry learning requires safe and trustful community and environment, there are some parts of the Fle3 course that should be openly available for anyone interested in to have a look. The leading the process of learning should be documented and available for anyone to follow, learn about and even comment it.

In a way the documentation of the process (what the teacher and the students are doing in the course) can be compared to the content (study book and other materials) used in the study course. Both should be openly available.

        - Teemu
