Hi Aere,

2018-01-02 21:41 GMT+01:00 Aere Greenway <address@hidden>:
Having noticed that Qsynth doesn't act on the CC8 "Balance" control message (using the FluidR3_GM soundfont), I have used the balance control to control the relative loudness of a background voice, in relation to the foreground voice, as part of a way of implementing layered voices using Qsynth, in conjunction with a MIDI router.

That makes sense, as Qsynth is a user-interface for FluidSynth. It can't react properly to CC8 as it's simply not implemented yet. So you used a midi router to map CC8 to _expression_ or volume, correct? Hopefully, that won't be necessary anymore after we add proper balance support to FluidSynth.

All the best,

   Marcus
