I would suggest the name "Common Directories"(comdir.h) instead of Fnkdat.
Of course this will not bring revolutionary public attention or magically
produce better code.
But it would be a self explaining name, which makes the project easier to
understand at first glance, and easier to introduce to people who don't know it
yet.
And #include <comdir.h> gives a clue about its purpose, which can be important
if someone reads old or co-developer's code, #include <fnkdat.h> gives no clue.
The Savannah Unix name will stay the same, of course. And since it's linked
statically, applications using 0.0.7 will still run fine. And programmers
updating old apps to the new lib version already must rebuild it, now they must
rewrite one line of C source and recompile it.
Not much overhead.
Kind regards
Peter Wiehe
