Hi all,
I've recently asked myself, where to find a "comprehensive" list of
crossplatform development tools from which to pick one.
In fact, I DO favor Tcl/Tk, even though I'm still a bit irritated by some
weird things in Visual Tcl (probably a genuine newbie's cry). We'll see
about that soon.
But just for your information, here is the background info I could find on
this subject.
P.S. Tcl/Tk seems to be the ONLY one (or one from a VERY restricted set)
which offers portability to ALL the Operating Systems we're targeting.
A recent Slashdot post provided useful background information about
cross-platform IDEs. Even non-developers should find these interesting.
Notes:
- Fox presently does NOT work with Macs, so this rules it out.
- Idem with Gtk (Windows port being "in progress").

A few excerpts I liked:
What some repeatedly say about Java performance.

We'll probably use a mix of Tcl and C / C++ for the non-GUI modules.
