I found out the problem is:
ltconfig does not provide a full path to the -update_registry flag.
It uses ${objdir}/so_locations, and the "logic" used to get objdir is
a little wacked. I think I'll drop a note to the libtool list.
Perhpas the CVS snapshot of libtool fixes this...
