The FT_CONFIG_OPTION_PIC was created for Brew specifically. Even then some folks objected that this should be done by compilers and not in FreeType. This work was never completed and covers only some modules. We only check if it compiles once in a blue moon.
Nine years later today, Brew moved on from rvct to armcc.
Hence, who needs FT_CONFIG_OPTION_PIC today?
