Hi, I have a problem with high resolution (1600x1200) in X on an IBM Thinkpad with 15" LCD and READON X-Server. When I use this resolution, all the fonts are distorted. However, it seems to be fine when I use a smaller resolution. Anti-Aliasing and Bytecode interpreter are disabled and I use TrueType fonts. here is a screenshot with verdana (truetype) font: http://webmail.netcos.ch/freetype.png I'm using freetype 2.1.3 (SuSE 8.2 RPM) but I have also tried 2.1.4.
You will get distorted fonts in all resolutions other than 1024x768 (native resolution of 15" LCD). This is the feature of LCD, not the bug in FreeType (your screenshot looks fine on my CRT).
