[Freetype] Freetype & KDE font installer

I installed Freetype 2.1.9 with hinting support
in Slackware 10, uncommenting
the line "TT_CONFIG_OPTION_BYTECODE_INTERPRETER".
However, I'm no more able to use
KDE font installator.
If I try to open it, I receive the following message:
opt/kde/lib/libkfontinst.so.0: undefined symbol: FTC_SBit_Cache_Lookup.
Is these a way to repare it?
Something wrong in compiling Freetype?
