I'm rendering text to a bitmap and using the provided metrics I can't
figure out where the baseline is. That is, it's easy enough to use the
"horiBearingY" and "height" glyph metrics to figure out how to place a
glyph relative to the baseline, but I don't see how I can know where
that baseline is in advance relative to the bounding box.

Put another way, how I can figure out what the descender is for the font
without simply rendering every character first.

What I'm trying to do is simply write each glyph into a bitmap grid. I'd
like that the bitmaps are all placed at the correct height in their cell.
