Happy New Year to all.

Registrations are beginning to trickle in for this year's Gnu Hackers Meeting, 
which is great news.

There are a couple of issues which I wanted to air on this list:

Currently, so far as I'm aware, nobody is organising the programme, or other
tasks such as the audio/video recording of talks.  As I made clear last year,
my role in organising GHM 2017 will be limited to providing the venue
and accommodation - in other words you'll be coming to watch an empty seminar
room!  So if somebody would like to take responsibility for putting out a 
call for papers, and organising the programme that would be great.  
Alternatively,
if somebody has already started doing this, then please give a heads up.

Secondly,  I'm told that a number of people registered on the web site some
weeks ago, but have not yet paid the registration fee.  As places are limited,
and GHM is being organised on a break-even basis, we'll be operating a "first 
paid, first confirmed" system.    That means, your registration cannot be
confirmed until you have paid, and if you pay late then your choice of
accommodation may not be available.

Lastly, if you were planning on coming, but have not yet registered then now

About GHM 2017:

The 2017 GNU Hackers Meeting takes place from 25-27 August 2017.

This year, to avoid the noise and distraction of a large city, the GNU Hackers 
Meeting 2017 will take place in the Kn?llwald-Niederbeisheim region of Germany,
which is located between Kassel and Fulda.  The registration fee includes
full board accommodation.  Double, single and twin rooms are available. There is
a restuarant and bar.  WLAN is available free of charge.

The annual GNU Hackers meeting is a semi-formal meeting spanning three days and 
is open to all people interested in the GNU operating system. Typically, the 
format includes talks, seminars and discussions, as well as a chance for social 
interaction with maintainers, users and developers of GNU software.
