Better to add it to /etc/profile, so it's there for everyone.

Also, if IIRC, there is a way to make the proxy not cache the downloaded
packages (otherwise you will risk getting old packages from the cache next
time). This is done in apt.conf.

I remember "man apt.conf" had this documented.
