I already opened a bug for this:

I have the same poor wifi performance as when I was using Lemote debian
mipsel tarball.

I remember that the famous extra-module provided by D-- solved both this
problem and the battery-management problem.

I don't know if it is free software or how could it be inserted again
into the distribution.
