SMS longer than 75 characters are not sent using gnokii or smsd

Dear all,
I have quite a big problem, because SMS which are longer than 75 characters 
are not send. I am using NOKIA 6310 and dlr3p cable, and for longer SMS the 
operation end with error SMS Send failed (Command timed out.)

When using smsd then the error says:  Event 0 failed with return code 11!
