Hiya,
PC info:
IBM Thinkpad A22M
Pentium 3 - 850Mhz - 256MB RAM - ATI Rage Mobility Graphics
About two weeks ago I downloaded Gnoppix and burnt the ISO on CD-rom, no
problems
whatever with booting from it etc. Yesterday I installed it on my laptop.
It gives you then the option, something like:
1. Install old style Debian
2. Install like live CD Gnoppix style
So I picked the 'Gnoppix style install' and everything went well. When I
boot into my fresh installed system, it seems
like Gnome takes a lot of time starting up and then it just sits there,
leaving me with a Gnome background image
and a mouse and no icons or anything else. The mouse just moves, nothing more.
With CTRL-F keys I can change to a prompt.
Is this normal after an installation? I'd like to have the same desktop in
Gnome after installation, like I have
when I start up my Live CD. Any suggestions?
thx!
