Maybe it should be possible to remove a specific patch, without
removing later patches. That is, to get the diff between to older
versions, and apply the reverse change on the current source. Then you
could add a comment about the removal of the patch to that new
change. That would mean keeping the change as well as the removal in
the history of the project, which is probably a good thing.

If there is a long time between the adding and removal of the patch,
it will probably get hairy, but if the change was recent, I think it
would mostly work.
