Presenting a case insensitive UI is sensible and worthwhile. Implementing the case insensitivity at the filesystem level is senseless and worthless.

It can and should be implemented at a higher level in the win32 API. Users do not and should not care about the implementation details of the filesystem.

Which in the case of MacOSX is true, "except" that the high level filesystem calls include this...

So fopen works as expected (assuming I remember correctly), but the regular mac os system calls work as before.

Though in real mac programming, using a filename is actually sloppy, but that's probably more detail then you want to care about...
