My MUA of choice is mutt, but I have found Gmail has a nice and
unexpected feature from reading Tom's recent posts on furth.

It color codes any line that has been previously seen in the
conversation. So what?!

Well where this is nice is that it works like an automated change bar
as he updates and grows the grammar. In his latest post for example,
the whole grammar appeared in a dark-purple (because it effectively
quoted something from earlier in the conversation), except for the new
or revised sections which showed up in black. Sure it's minor, but
this really makes keeping up with the changes a little easier. I don't
have to compare two separate emails by hand to see what has been
revised.

Is anyone away of a free application that has similar functionality
built in? I don't mean diffs. I mean an MUA, webmail system or
mail-news gateway.

For the curious, the biggest problem with gmail for reading this list
is that currently everything is proportionally spaced. I've already
posted a request on this. But as a result I occasionally find the need
to open a GAU post in a mailer to see those nicely formatted tabbed
tables correctly.

I really don't intend this to be a run-away thread. Please reply
off-list for anything that doesn't relate to GAU or respond to my one
question above.
