I still don't see how we are going to release jack without pounding
on upstream for things like the >2Gb ext2fs patch, etc.

We can't "pound" for the >2gb patch, and you know the reasons.

   Installer:

   1. We need one.
   2. Should (can?) it be native?

Yes and yes.

   3. Can we take advantage of what Ben has done with the liveCD stuff
or is that too Debian specific?

I don't know what Ben has done.

I think that the installer is the least important here, getting a
system that can be used on a live cd would be more important. Since
then, writting a installer would be quite trivial.

   4. Do we need tmpfs fixed before anything?

It would be nice to fix tmpfs, but that might require hacking in GNU
Mach.

   Package Management:

   1. Where are we with this?

   2. Are we hosting stuff on Savannah, gnu.org, or both?

We will host source code on Savannah, and binary packages on
ftp.gnu.org.

   Standards / Policy:

   1. Do we have anything with regards to Filesystem Heirarcy
      Standards?

No, we have our own standards that we base on the GNU Coding Standards
a bit. If the FHS has anything that makes sense, then we could use
that to ease life for others.

   2. Are we dumping /usr?

Yes, but we might keep a "/usr -> ." link for awhile.

   3. What init system (does that even make sense?)

dmd is used for the system start up scripts.
