The name /stow has no relation to the directory's usage (except for
the negligible few who happen to know what GNU stow does), so it is
no better than /pantry or /zoo for this purpose. It is a bad
choice.
I stronly disagree, stowing means putting something away in some
place, this is also the meaning of `installation'. Pantry is for
`stowing' away food in a small storeroom, and zoo for `stowing'
animals in small cages. But not as a general word for storing
something in some manner.
Maybe the word `stow' is more familiar to those who speak the British
dialect of English.
So much discussion for such a silly detail!
