So he is planning to rewrite all the HURD interfaces and make it more POSIX compliant? Its taken like 20 years to get HURD where it is right now. And back then there where full time developers working on it. And you didn't answer my other question; is he planning to put it under the GNU umbrella?

It's not meant to run on Hurd:
