The .dsp and .dsw files are maintained by Trevor who has
always insisted that they have to be checked in ending with
CR LF at the end of each line.

As far as I know, every file is treated the same regarding
CR LF endings. If it is checked in with CR LF, when checked
out it ends the same way. If one line ends with LF, it is
the same when it is checked out.  If they are getting
checked out as CR CR LF I think the cvs client is at fault.

I can confirm by typing 'cat -vte gnugo.dsw' or
'cat -vte patterns/patterns.dsp that every line ends with CR LF.
The CR appears as ^M and the LF appears as $. CR CR LF
would appear as ^M^M$. 

I do not find any such such occurrences in patterns.dsp.
