First, thank you for your bug report!

Unfortunately, I don't have a good idea yet what causes the bug, either. 
 Let's try to narrow it down a little, first...

Wrong type of carriage return should AFAIK not be a problem with XML; 
it's supposed to recognize all the different forms...

The stack trace does tell me that the error doesn't occur in our code: 
We call an RDF API which calls an RDF parser which calls an XML parser, 
and there the error is thrown.

I see two things to do. Firstly, I'll send you two or three RDF files 
per mail, in the hope that Eudora doesn't mangle them. Secondly, I'll 
send you a Loom JAR file which gives the exception's name again after 
printing the stack trace. Hopefully that'll narrow down the 
possibilities a bit...
