Dear Brent,

I have downloaded many of the suggested RDF files and I am using version 0.1.
I am using IBM's Java 1.3 on the Windows 98 platform. All the RDF files reproduce the same behavior -- Loom tries to load the file, but says shortly
afterwards 'Sorry, there was a problem while loading file xxx'.

First, thank you for your bug report!

Unfortunately, I don't have a good idea yet what causes the bug, either. Let's try to narrow it down a little, first...

I suspect
the problem may have something to do with the getting the files off the internet. It reformats the files with the wrong type of carriage return.

Wrong type of carriage return should AFAIK not be a problem with XML; it's supposed to recognize all the different forms...

Of course, I could be way off on that. I regret not being able to give a full error report, since much of the info scrolls off the DOS screen. The
following is all I could capture:
(snip)

The stack trace does tell me that the error doesn't occur in our code: We call an RDF API which calls an RDF parser which calls an XML parser, and there the error is thrown.

I see two things to do. Firstly, I'll send you two or three RDF files per mail, in the hope that Eudora doesn't mangle them. Secondly, I'll send you a Loom JAR file which gives the exception's name again after printing the stack trace. Hopefully that'll narrow down the possibilities a bit...

Thank you for your interest and help!
