I am also seeing various lstat errors from RecursiveCheck. All of mine so far this month are from recursive "file:" sweeps.

I've received "lstat: No such file or directory" from Linux, Solaris and HP-UX, so this isn't a platform specific phenomena. I'd like Cfengine to stop sending me these unless there's something I should be doing about them.

A solaris 2.8 system had some "lstat: Value too large for defined data type" errors. I'd like to understand what that is about.

And a Linux system had a few "lstat: Stale NFS file handle" errors. I'd like Cfengine to continue reporting this kind of problem. -Tod

I have been getting these also. I think it is a case of cfagent marking
a file for some action, doing something else, and coming back to that
file only to find it gone. I would be happy to not see this warning.

Hi All,

Over the last month or so I've started getting these messages from various
clients (Solaris 8 and 9 at this time).

RecursiveCheck was looking at /var/cfengine/state/cf_outgoing.irc when this
happened:
lstat: No such file or directory
RecursiveCheck was looking at /var/cfengine/state/cf_outgoing.irc.cfedited
when this happened:
lstat: No such file or directory

I'm getting ready to roll out to production (Solaris 8, 9, and RH AS-2.1)
and need to know if this is an indication of a problem.

This is with cfengine-2.1.10.

Thanks,
         /\/elson
