[Help-gnu-radius] secret length in client file

Hi there,
I have a quite simple problem(hope so).
If I add follow line in /usr/local/etc/raddb/clients,

10.10.10.10          largerthan15chars

I get follow error message:

Okt 12 10:29:35: Error: string too long: largerthan15chars

It seems to be quit simple, just increase AUTH_PASS_LEN in radius.h,
e.g. #define AUTH_PASS_LEN 32.

Is there a reason why AUTH_PASS_LEN is 16 and if I increase
AUTH_PASS_LEN, what bad things will happen?
