As far as I can tell, they don't:

address@hidden:~/src/libidn$ rgrep wchar examples/* tests/* src/*
address@hidden:~/src/libidn$ 

Maybe you meant "implicitly"?  If so, which header file is pulling in
wchar.h?

Yup, that sounds like the proper fix, but I'd like to understand the
problem slightly better first.
