Presently the x/y/z-ticklabels do not respect the axis font
properties. The attached changeset resovles this.
John, I've cc'd you since this changeset assumes that the change for
the use of binary data transfer to gnuplot is assumed to be present.
If you decide to revert that patch or delay this one until the binary
data changeset bug for 3D plots is resolved, I'll resubmit this change
later.
As 3D plots are not working for me at the moment, I have only verified
the 2D behavior is correct.
