There are more problems as far as I can see. For instance, the aviinfo function is returning 0 for the number of frames for all of the avi files that I tried.
So, you need to wrap the aviread around a try, catch block and increment the number of the frame you are reading. That's the only way I've been able to get it to work.
The avitest.m file under the src/video package has resulted in error for all the codecs I've tried.
I'd be happy to try to debug but I'm not at all familiar with the code.
I don't know if I'm seeing all these issues because I'm using OSX and/or the latest ffmpeg.
I'll go ahead and edit the wiki now.
