ok, this is useful

but it really doesn't matter since I'm building practically everything from 
sources.
Not true.
For people building on other systems, your info could not apply and
you can mislead them. On windows system is surely wrong.
Probably also wrong on Unix different from Linux.

Fine for you, but as METIS has usage and redistribution
constrains, you are not free to redistribute your binary outside
your organization without additional permissions.

Have you ever read its license ?
