Consider this file, if you remove the @ignore block, texi2dvi does not
compile. Same for \\WHAT.
Sigh. It seems macro expansion is totally broken in texinfo.tex right
now, for any macro with arguments. Just the constant
@macro refcommand{WHAT}
hello
@end macro
@refcommand{foo}
goes into an infinite loop expanding the macro. I'll look at that.
Meanwhile, texi2dvi -E seems to do the right thing with
@cindex @code{\\\WHAT\}
Eli may be right that it would be more logical to use findex instead of
shoving them into cp? Has nothing to do with the problem at hand,
though.
