Yes :(.  I expect you would be better off with @node commands for each
of the chapters/sections/etc., for starters.

    As you can see in the pdf, there's a problem with the contents table.

Maybe move the @contents command before the TOP node and it will come out.

Also, I suggest using @shortcontents (before the TOP node) instead of
that weird SHORT CONTENTS chapter -- but the @menu there should actually
stay, and be part of the TOP node.
