[VCDImager] .dat -> .cue/.bin?

 Hi,

does vcdimager do .dat -> .bin/.cue?
It's rather inconvenient having to switch to windows and
use VCDGear to create an .mpg out of a .dat file first.
What's the difference between .dat and .mpg, anyway?
Can I just use the .dat as an .mpg maybe---since libmpeg etc.
recognize it as such?
