you can have selection lists pick one choice at random (look it up in
the manual)
but be prepared that not all firmware implementations have a reliable
random generator included... so some may have not quite a uniform
distribution... but more of a 'chose always first item' policy :-/

so if you author a disc with random selection lists; you'll should only
offer this as an additional option... it would be interesting to know,
how many implementations do have proper random selections...

ps: you can also implement a 'scan' mode (playing only a few secs of
each mpeg stream); but the same problem regarding implemention
compliancy applies here...
