Hello Claudiu,
There are a bunch of ideas on
http://www.gnu.org/software/soc-projects/ideas-2012.html#prolog
(hopefully they will shortly be on this year's page). Do any of them
particularly strike you as interesting?
To evaluate your suitability as a GSoC student I would like to see a
patch submitted against the GNU Prolog for Java. We have bug tracker on
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?group=gnuprologjava which has some things
you could look into trying to fix or you could look at writing some more
tests or just look through the code until you find something to improve.
Regards,
Daniel
