While I can't answer the question about the drive, here's some input
regarding the external display:

According to the data sheet the ultrabase supports up to
2560x1600 pixels with the display port interface.

In practice it should work up to 4096000 px. I'm using it on a
1920x1920 (3686400 px) monitor with the display port without any problem
