Yes, we could still use help; the problem is that I can't give you
clean cut instructions on what should be done -- as a developer I
don't really know what the bad parts of the documentation are. But
perhaps other people following development can give you hints.

If you're really interested, subscribe to the development list (Cc'd
http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-devel/ ) and offer help
when you have spare time.
