Are "ghost notes" a technical percussion term?  (I have no idea)
And for wind instruments. A fairly common articulation in jazz. On saxophone the note is fingered and given almost no air - almost swallowed. Hence ghost note. Now that I have seen it I will probably add a \ghost definition to my "common.ly" file.
