Yes, but the solution to that was for you
to manage git, and for me to send you edited
files.  That worked fine, and that is what
I'd prefer for git-challenged *doc* contributors.
As I've said before, I'm happy to manage the
git interface for such people.  I'd rather
have complete edited doc files sent to me
rather than trying to help people install git
via a recipe and then teaching them how to
make valid diffs.  Once they've mastered
texinfo, are still keen and looking for more
challenging work is when git should be mentioned.

For potential contributors to the *code* the
situation is different.  Anyone capable of
modifying LP code should have little problem
understanding git and using it fully.  Although
I admit a gentle introduction would be helpful :)
