So far they haven't had a welcoming environment to express their
views.  Our top three doc writers are me, Trevor, and James; all
three of whom have felt quite disrespected at least once in the
past year.

Language is a tool which affects people in different ways.
Perhaps doc writers are more sensitive to language; perhaps it's a
cross-cultural issue; perhaps it's just a fluke.  The bottom line
is that the lilypond development community has lost potential
documentation work (and ideas) due to the way that some emails
were written.  I am, of course, trying to repair this damage and
guide the community into not causing such damage in the future,
but it takes time.
