The actual work happened in 2006. The blog post was just because
Jamie Bullock wanted to keep maintaining that project (which I
hadn't touched in the past 4 years at that time).
Firelily itself a pretty thin wrapper around the server code that
Han-Wen posted a few years prior, completely devoted to producing
and displaying 2-bar snippets of 2 4 8 notes in response to
realtime input. It's not at all in the same ballpark as
schikkers-list.
