feature suggestion

It occurred to me that rather than fiddling with interscoreline or
betweensystemspace it might be nice to have a number-of-pages function
that would do the calculations to spread the output over the set number-
of-pages value.

I certainly don't know enough about how Lily does internal math.
Perhaps this would be too cumbersome.
