When I last looked it SGML (several months ago I admit) it seemed to me
that SGML had the right concepts of seperating document content and
presentation to make preparing "one" document for different media
(eg paper and the web) a reality. However it seemed to me that none
of the various tools available were actually useable for day to day
writing unless you were prepared to put in a lot of customisation
at fairly low levels.

I ended up sticking with lout, writing some html directly, and using
Uwe's lout2html in special cases.

Has anyone got an SGML solution that is actually usable for a wide
range of tasks?
