Hi Daniel,
This problem is caused by the shell installed on ubuntu (by default). I
think it's dash.
If you install bash instead, and/or make sure that /bin/sh -> bash it
should fix it for you.
I don't have ubuntu so I can't easily test a solution to this problem.
