[Ltib] Problems with tftpnfsbooting RDB-8377E board

Hi Folks,

I have been trying to boot my RDB-8377e board with a newly built  
kernel and root file system using the TFTP for the kernel/bootimage  
and NFS for the root filesystem (built with LTIB).

This appears to work OK until the very end of the boot process where I  
get the following:

The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2
filesystem.  If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2
filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock
is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate  
superblock:
    e2fsck -b 8193 <device>

At which point the console more or less hangs (e.g. <control>-C will  
receive a ^C response on the serial port, but there is no meaningful  
interaction). The board does not respond to pings at this point.
I have verified that the NFS server does indeed provide service to the  
board at the assigned IP address. I can download an image from the NFS  
server via uBoot on the board, and the NFS server does allow me to  
mount the root filesystem.

Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed or things to look for?
