[lwip-devel] Re: lwIP on RTLinux-GPL

Hello Sergio, and -devel subscribers,

the lwIP source code was initially placed under BSD license by the
Swedish Institute of Computer Science. Authored by Adam Dunkels.

Adam and SICS have approved with any use of lwIP as long as the
BSD license is adhered to.

I think including BSD in GPL code is fine (at least the Linux kernel
does so as well... and neatly mention this fact in the comments.)

I see no problems in this approach.

The ports have their respective owners. If you feel unsure about certain
licenses
or copyright notices, try to contact them.

Sorry for not answering your question (too busy and your email is left
unanswered)
but I see no legal problems.

The licenses themselves should provide you with enough info and what you can
and cannot do.

All my personally added lwIP stuff is BSD licensed.

Regards,

Leon Woestenberg.
