I hate it when I'm trying to be helpful and I'm just wrong.  But I
subscribed also to learn, and that is one of the advantages of a forum
like this.  Thanks for the corrections!

Regarding the traffic direction, the email archive here

6 includes the statement "So ur suggestion is right response and the
restransmission is LWIP, Request goes to the LWIP.", yet the same email
on the lwip-users list omits that sentence.

So I still think Fred's ecos timer must be configured wrong for lwIP to
be retransmitting so quickly.  Should he look there first?
