This also happens on Solaris. It has happened several times over the past
six months (running Lynx 2.6), but only (a) if it's been a few weeks since
I quit Lynx, and (b) immediately after [z] interrupting "Making HTTP
connection to..." and [x] trying again to follow the link several times in
succession. I always have to quit lynx and re-start because *no* HTTP,
FTP, NNTP, etc. connections work.
(I've found [z][x] is useful for getting a connection when the server is
slow in connecting, but fast in responding once it's finally connected.)
So it's not an exclusively OS/2 problem. If anyone has an idea for fixing
this (and no, "upgrade to 2.8" is not an appropriate suggestion since John
is having this problem *with* 2.8) with either an environment variable, or
something within Lynx while it's running (so I don't lose all of my (g)oto
history), I'd be most appreciative.
