That's what I meant, I did use the newest packages added.

I haven't tested if the application you make reference still works ;-)
Yes, I am the author of those pages, and the cross-built package (except
the installer which I make on Windows), I also contributed some of the
changes needed to make the build, in fact I'm currently trying to build
with more changes needed for LFS (large file support) and to adapt to
changes on the original project (now they use fork(), waitpid(),
signal() none of which is supported without changes).

OK, those I'm not using.  I was referring to the usual Qt project
definition, inside the .pro file: "PKGCONFIG = fontconfig libcurl
openssl dbus-1 libevent" (the corrected version) which results on qmake
running pkg-config (for those packages).
